About the role

Cire Community School is a leader in delivering innovative programs to students from years 7 to 12 who have disengaged from education. The Community School offers an alternative to mainstream schooling, supporting some of the region’s most vulnerable and marginalised young people.

Due to growth and internal advancement, Cire seeks a Campus Wellbeing Leader at our Mt Evelyn campus to start as soon as possible.

As a vital member of the leadership team, the Campus Wellbeing Leader is responsible for fostering a positive wellbeing culture at Cire Community School and leading a team of dedicated specialists to assist students with self-regulation and to participate actively in their learning. Your days will be varied, but always active and working with purpose to support the overall wellbeing of Cire students.

Who Are You?

As an experienced leader, you understand the value of collaboration and consultation. Proven ability to effectively lead a team to achieve educational and wellbeing objectives for vulnerable students is a must, as is agility, adaptability and empathy. You will have integrity and strong professional boundaries, with a proven ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

You will have significant experience working effectively with young people and a strong understanding of the complexity of adolescent development and the impact of trauma on development and engagement in education. You will have a demonstrated ability to quickly, sensitively and effectively assist with the de-escalation of young people in moments of personal distress and to coach others in this practice.

Additionally, you will:

  • Hold a relevant qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Counselling, Education or a related field
  • Have a thorough understanding of Child Safe frameworks and regulations
  • Have a strong understanding of the support and wellbeing initiatives and programs needed for young people who are disengaged and vulnerable
  • Current VIT registration would be an advantage

To enjoy Cire’s environment and culture, you will have a community focus, friendly demeanour and positive attitude. You will demonstrate our Values of Respect, Quality and Integrity.

What Next?

If you see yourself fitting in well with us and our vision, please send your cover letter and CV via the Apply button. Please note, only candidates who submit both will be considered.
