About the position
This is an Aboriginal Identified Position – authorised under the S14d of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977
The Wellbeing Worker provides individual support to participants by helping them develop plans to reduce the impacts of their social and emotional distress and improve their overall wellbeing. This can involve connecting to culture, community, services such as health or counselling, role modelling and facilitating healthy ways to manage wellbeing.
The wellbeing worker will also support our participants at some social and wellbeing groups. There is a positive team culture which will support you to develop your skills and make this position your own by developing groups, community outreach and cultural activities to benefit our participants and the broader community.
Based in beautiful Ulladulla this is a part-time (3 days per week – days negotiable), fixed-term opportunity until June 2025.

What you’ll need
- Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be an active member within the Aboriginal communities of the Shoalhaven and surrounding area
- Qualifications in mental health, health or community/social services discipline (minimum Certificate IV)
- Demonstrated capacity to engage with and mentor people, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, to work towards their recovery goals in a structured and planned way
- Experience in developing and maintaining successful partnerships with Aboriginal organisations and communities
