The Role
Women’s Generalist Counselling at The Centre for Women & Co. utilises trauma-informed practice and is delivered using a strengths-based women-centred approach, including other holistic therapeutic approaches. The primary role of the Counsellor is to provide short and long-term high-quality therapeutic counselling and group work when required. The Centre for Women & Co. provides direct service delivery to women in a space that is non-discriminatory, accessible and affordable.
This multifaceted role is vital to the effective delivery of women’s services in our organisation and is instrumental in establishing strong partnerships, delivery of services and practices that deliver positive outcomes for service users and the broader community, in line with our strategic plan and feminist philosophy.
You will work collaboratively with team members and other agencies and organisations to develop appropriate and innovative counselling practices within the Logan Community.
Salary and Benefits
- SCHADS Level 5.1 ($47.50p/h) | Full-Time (38 Hours Per Week) | $93860 annually
- Permanent position with recurrent funding

Experience and Qualifications
This role requires qualifications in Counselling, Behavioural Science, Social Science, Social Work or Psychology from a recognised university, with eligibility for professional association membership.
Demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in client-centred, strength-based, trauma-informed holistic counselling utilising diverse modalities that can include but are not limited to creative/expressive therapies, trauma-focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, family systems theory and Narrative therapy is required. Knowledge and experience in trauma-informed group work and a flexible approach to delivering psycho-social education is essential.
