Youth Care Coordinator – headspace Cowra Marathon Health

JOB DESCRIPTION

Marathon Health is a not-for-profit, registered charity with a vision of enabling communities to thrive through improved health and wellbeing. 

We are looking for a Youth Care Coordinator to join our team in Cowra, NSW. The vacancy is Part Time Time, 60 hours per fortnight (Monday-Thursday), and will be ongoing. Candidates who identify as First Nations people are warmly encouraged to apply.

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and screening of young people referred to headspace
  • Engage with headspace clients to ensure ongoing service engagement
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the ongoing success of the centre 
  • Advocate on behalf of young people whose care needs are being coordinated by headspace
  • Assist with community capacity building, community awareness, and education and training activities

What you’ll have:

  • Qualifications in psychology; social work; occupational therapy; nursing; drug and alcohol work; youth work; mental health, or related field
  • Proven ability to undertake clinical assessments of young people experiencing mental health or drug and alcohol problems
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people
  • Good working knowledge of computer technology and experience using clinical software packages
