About The Role
Working as part of our team some key responsibilities include but is not limited to:
- Use creative and assertive approaches to engage young people around their issues of concern within the care co-ordination model and promote a positive help seeking environment.
- Identify young people 10-19 years of age who require assistance with early mental health problems/concerns, substance abuse problems, primary health concerns, education and training, other care or service needs using the COMS assessment and a strengths based, recovery framework.
- Utilise harm minimisation approach to conduct a comprehensive intake assessment with each client at commencement of treatment to indicate current functionality, risks, needs and strengths and psychosocial history including AOD use, and identifying any precipitating factors.
- To provide early intervention and treatment to improve the mental health and social wellbeing of young people aged 10-19 years in relation to alcohol and other drug concerns.

Essential Criteria
- Minimum Diploma in Community Services Alcohol & Other Drugs, Counselling or equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge of youth alcohol & other drug issues, mental health issues and consumer rights and responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and developing participant individual recovery plans.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and servicing links between Mental Health, commercial and community services.
- Well-developed liaison, oral and written communication skills demonstrated with a wide range of individuals, organisations, stakeholders and clients.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively develop and maintain partnerships, networks and client relationships.
- Experience in maintaining records to meet organisational and legislative requirements.
