Accoras has been delivering mental health and wellbeing services to South-East Queensland young people and families for 30 years. Accoras operates headspace Inala, in a lead agency capacity, providing early intervention and support to young people in the areas of primary health, mental health, drug and alcohol, and vocation and education supports.

The Role

As the Youth Clinical Case Manager, you will provide time limited, evidence-based interventions and support to young people. Our young people visit headspace when they’re experiencing mild to moderate symptoms of mental health. Our clinicial team play a pivitol role in supporting young people to make sense of their experiences in the context of adolescent development. Alongside working one-on-one interventions, our clinicianslead targeted groups and play a key role in community engagement activities.

Our clinicians provide a range of supports including assessments, evidence-based clinical interventions and intensive case management to address various presentations and multiple, complex or varying needs. 

Alongside providing one-on-one therapeutic interventions, you will use a case management approach to holistically support our young people. You will work within a shared-care model alongside other multidisciplinary team members, providing support and intervention to improve wellbeing, family functioning and life outcomes for young people. 

This role is funded under the moderate to severe stream.

This is a full-time, fixed term contract until 30 June 2023, with contract extensions aligned to funding renewals.  Working from our headspace office located in Inala, your work-related travel for community events within the Inala/Brisbane South region will be reimbursed.

Essentials:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or similar.
  • Values keeping young people in the driver’s seat of their life.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the benefits and application of early intervention for young people, and the ability to deliver psychoeducation in relation to adolescent development, youth mental health and wellbeing.
  • Previous experience working in a therapeutic role
  • Knowledge of the stages of child and adolescent development.
  • Thorough understanding of how mental health shows up for young people aged 12-25 years.
  • Experience providing culturally sensitive engagement with young people and their families, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD and LGBTIQ young people.

Experience in responding to young people experiencing risk using harm minimisation methodologies
