JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Paid external supervision 
  • Reporting to Clinical Services Supervisor

   Our client is currently seeking a Youth Counsellor to join their long standing program in the south of Sydney! As a counsellor, you will provide crucial counselling and case management services to young people aged 10-25 who are experiencing a range of vulnerabilities and at risk of harm from drug and alcohol use.

This role will involve;

  • Coordinate and deliver essential services to improve mental health, well-being and relationships for young people
  • Provide counselling and other therapeutic interventions 
  • Undertake comprehensive assessment, to determine appropriate interventions, follow up case plans, mentor, advocate and provide referral as required
  • Work collaborative with families as a means of support for young people
  • Work competently with young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, First Nation’s young people, youth with disabilities and LGBTIQA young people 

They are looking for candidates with at least 4 years counselling experience 

The requirements for this role include;

  • Bachelor in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or related discipline 
  • Experience providing generalist support and counselling to young people 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • NSW Driver’s license and Car
  • Working with Children’s Check
