My client is a leading youth services organisation, who oversee a number of well-known mental health sites across metro and regional WA.
Due to an ongoing increase in service demand and growth, MARS Recruitment are seeking an experienced Youth Counsellor to work out of their Geraldton site.
About the Role
The objective of this position is to provide one on one counselling to individuals between the ages of 12-25 years of age and incorporate a mixture of education, support and evidence based clinical interventions, ideally aimed at strengthening resiliency and coping resources.
Duties include.
- Provide direct counselling services to young people in schools and also their families
- Conduct psychosocial assessments
- Conduct case reviews and develop care plans
- Provide group-based programs
- Development of evidence based clinical practices
- If applicable, conduct supervision of more junior staff members
- Report directly into senior management
- Internal and external stakeholder engagement
About You
You will be an experienced Counsellor and possess a tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or Occupational Therapy and have a relevant member body registration.
Other key attributes will include.
- Experience working with children and/or younger adults
- A willingness to be both office and school based
