About role:
We seek an experienced Youth Counsellor to join our Youth Services team within the Reconnecting Home program (Homelessness Youth Assistance Program). Reporting to the Youth Services Coordinator.
As a Youth Counsellor, you will deliver high-quality, early intervention intake responses and ongoing support to young people aged 12 to 15 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Through office-based, outreach, and telehealth counselling services, you will use a strengths-based approach, conducting holistic assessments, creating individualised care plans, and providing advocacy and support to help young people achieve their goals.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you must be a degree qualified Counsellor (or similar relevant degree) with three years of relevant experience, however, will consider a lesser formal qualification with substantial years of relevant experience. Experience in working with young people or in the Homelessness sector is highly desirable. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience delivering culturally sensitive programs and implementing trauma-informed practices, especially when working with Aboriginal children and families. A C-class driver’s license is also required for this position as there is regular travel across the Murrumbidgee requirements.
