Join our headspace Hedland team where you will be engaging young people and their families to provide Case Management support. You will aim to increase understanding of mental health challenges amongst young people and encourage positive help-seeking behaviours by building lasting and genuine relationships with the community. In addition, you will also work with consortium members and other local agencies, community groups, and sector networks to obtain better outcomes for youth mental health while working with key stakeholders to increase access to appropriate services for young people in the Hedland community.

What you will bring!

You will bring your patient and empathetic nature alongside experience in delivering person centred, trauma informed services that are culturally appropriate. Pursuant of Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, Aboriginality is considered a genuine qualification for this position and applicants must be of Aboriginal descent.

  • Tertiary level qualification in youth work, community services or mental health (or demonstrated equivalent knowledge of and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people or who are Aboriginal)
  • Demonstrated experience in case coordination/management
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and delivering group programs, events and psycho-educational presentations
  • Experience using various styles of communication to ensure that information being delivered is clear, concise, factual, accurate and tailored to the audience
  • Knowledge of relevant community based mental health terminology

The successful candidate must also possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Driver’s License

Remuneration and benefits

  • Salary starting from $89,059 per annum (inclusive of 10% remote localities allowance) + 11% super
  • Tax-free salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 per annum
  • Rent subsidy up to $300 per week and electricity allowance up to $1000 per annum available (eligibility criteria apply)
  • Additional 3 days leave per year over the Christmas period
  • Access to purchase leave
