  • Salary – $86,950 – $100,729 p.a – Full Time – Short Term – Up To 30 Jun 2024 – AHP2

Overview

The Women’s and Children’s Health Network provides state of the art health care for women and children in Adelaide and South Australia.

We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions and SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service. We also provides important community-based services of which Metropolitan Youth Health is an integral part.

Metropolitan Youth Health provides free clinical health services (primarily for physical health issues) to young people aged 12-25, with a focus on under 18 years, in the Adelaide metropolitan-wide community.

The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Health and Recovery, Trauma Safety Services (HaRTSS) team as an Youth Health Worker on Full Time (1FTE) role until 30 Jun 2024.

As My Youth Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Engagement of young pregnant and or parenting people, and young people who are impacted by violence, and who are dis-advantaged and/or vulnerable to access and navigate through specialised primary health care services
  • Development and delivery of quality outcomes for clients through the provision of youth health care services
  • Improved service access and outcomes for young people and young pregnant and parenting people
  • Provision of quality supervision and professional development to team members.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian
    Association of Social Workers
  • Demonstrated ability to work with young people and in particular young pregnant and parenting people
    around the impacts of violence on children
  • Ability to critically analyse and respond to the changing needs of the clients and the organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training and development programs
  • Experience in working with young people and in particular young pregnant and parenting people and
    their children
  • Supervising, mentoring and supporting other staff and/or students on placement
