JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Youth Mental Health Clinician, you will be responsible for effectively engaging, screening, assessing, providing interventions, and coordinating care for young people aged 12-25 who contact or are referred to headspace

Key Responsibilities

You’ll be adept at relating to young people in a manner that is not only relevant but also appropriate to their unique developmental and cognitive levels of functioning. Your approach will ensure that services are delivered in a youth-friendly manner, fostering an environment that is supportive and conducive to their overall well-being.

  • Provide counseling and casework to clients accessing programs within the headspace center in Mount Gambier.
  • Participate in the access and intake system, answering phone calls and inquiries, screening and assessing needs, prioritising, and making appropriate follow-up appointments and referrals.
  • Refer young people to internal and external services as appropriate and provide follow-up support.

To qualify for this position, you must hold tertiary level qualifications in health, behavioral/social sciences, community services, or a related discipline.
