Youth Mental Health Worker (Youth Plus) – Provisional Psychologist Marathon Health

We are looking for a Youth Mental Health Worker (Provisional Psychologist) to join our headspace team in Lithgow, NSW. The vacancy is Full Time, 75 hours per fortnight, and will be ongoing.

The Youth Mental Health Worker role:

  • Supports young people who are experiencing complex and severe mental ill-health
  • Provides assessment, short-term evidence-based treatment and coordination, and psychoeducation
  • Facilitates coordinated care and treatment for moderate to severe mental health disorders
  • Works closely with families, GP’s, Psychiatrists, headspace clinicians and allied health staff

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work or other mental health accredited allied health discipline
  • Registration/membership with the relevant board or association (eg. AHPRA, AASW)
  • Experience in working with young people with severe or complex mental health needs
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in using client information management systems and electronic health records.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
