Upper Hunter Community Services Inc. is an established, successful, and growing community-based organisation that operates 10 state and federally funded programmes. It is based in Muswellbrook and outreaches throughout the Upper Hunter region.
This position requires an experienced, self-motivated professional.
Essential criteria for the position:
- Relevant qualifications or experience in youth and welfare work.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and work with young people aged 16–24 years.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of issues confronting young people, particularly in our service area.
- Experience in working in a team to deliver activities and programmes to young people.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Current Full Driver’s Licence
- First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain
- Current Working with Children’s Check
Key responsibilities for this position:
- To assist or support disadvantaged youth aged 16–24 years with significant needs who are not engaged in education.
- Case Management: Intake and Assessment in a Case Management Setting; providing assessment and case planning to assess the strengths and needs of the youth, including any risks; and planning and coordinating a mix of services to meet the client’s needs.
- Family Capacity Building: Family support activities are provided during case management, which involve undertaking activities to implement the case plans of individual clients.
- Education and Skills training: organise or facilitate targeted workshops
- Ability to work as part of a team.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position is based on The Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, SACS Level 4
- 30 hours/week Monday to Friday
- Additionally, the organisation enjoys PBI status, enabling salary-sacrificing arrangements up to the value of $15,000 per annum.
- There is a six-month probationary period for this position.
- A current Working with Children Check is essential.
