The Opportunity 

Yerin Eleanor Duncan is looking for a suitably qualified Youth Worker to join our Buridjga Youth Program. The Youth Worker role provides targeted earlier intervention support, family capacity building, information, advice and referrals, education and skills training advice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander young people aged between 12 and 24 years, living on Darkinjung Country.

The successful candidate can meet all essential criteria:

  • Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services or equivalent
    or 2 years’ experience in community services sector

Selection Criteria Questions

Please ensure you individually address each of the essential criteria below.

  1. Please give testimony to your Aboriginal identity and explain your connection to Darkinjung or the community you are from including your thoughts on how this relates to this role. 
  2. Provide an overview of your experience developing individual case management plans for clients and reporting on this information/data, including client assessment skills and experience. 
  3. Provide examples of your experience in delivering and evaluating targeted youth mentoring and intervention programs. 
  4. Outline your experience liaising with external partners including Police and Government Departments. Include your ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with all people to establish effective relationships.
  5. Describe your understanding of trauma informed care.
  6. Outline your verbal and written communication skills, organisational skills and computer literacy.
