About the Opportunity
St. Joseph and St. Anthony Catholic Parish is seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Worker to lead and engage with youth aged 9-12, fostering positive relationships with both the youth and their families. The Youth Worker will collaborate with the Youth Coordinator to organize and plan a fortnightly youth group, youth Mass, and other special events. The ideal candidate will possess a deep commitment to working with children, a solid understanding of Catholic teachings, and the ability to connect with youth in meaningful and impactful ways.
Key Responsibilities
-Lead youth group activities – Run fun and engaging sessions for the fortnightly youth group.
-Support Youth Mass – Assist with youth involvement in Mass (e.g., readers, altar servers, musicians).
-Help coordinate special events – Assist in planning retreats, service projects, and social outings.
-Build relationships – Foster connections with youth, families, and volunteers.
-Create a welcoming environment – Ensure a safe, inclusive, and faith-centred space.
What We’re Looking For
✔ Experience working with children or youth (preferably in a Catholic setting). ✔ Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
✔ Ability to collaborate with a team and engage with families.
✔ A commitment to Catholic values and a passion for youth ministry.
✔ First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
